Understand different thesis bindings
Limp Bound(perfect binding)
Bound just like a paperback novel, our standard binding found in most of our books (such as the A3 and A4 size) gives your pages a beautiful curve at the spine. and trimmed to make a ‘perfect’ flush finish.
Ring (Spiral, Wire) Binding
For a notebook-inspired feel, choose a spiral bound photo book. The pages are round or square hole punched along the binding edge and the wire is clamped into the holes to form a rounded spine, making them incredibly easy to flip through.

Thesis Printing paper types, explained
Economy Paper - 80gsm
Our economy paper type for many of our thesis Binding. A standard quality, glossy finish that creates a beautiful curve at the spine when the pages lay open. This paper thickness means you can create a book that has flexible pages but is still durable enough to be looked at again and again.
Standard Paper- 100gsm
Many of our Thesis Printing can be upgraded in the Editor to thicker paper. 100gsm is heavier and sturdier than our standard paper but still keeps a lovely flex to the pages. This thicker upgrade paper also has the same high gloss finish, meaning all your photos have a stunning sheen.
Premium Quality Paper - 160gsm
All our thesis printing come with semi-gloss, extra-thick 160gsm paper. This paper thickness is more like a sturdy card which helps the pages stay flat, even while being turned. Incredibly durable, this paper is ideal for books which will be handled a lot.
If any images or artwork goes right to the edge of the page, or “bleeds” off the page, you will need to add an additional 3mm of bleed to your artwork.
For text pages, we recommend that you allow a minimum margin of 20mm on the binding edge. This will avoid losing information into the spine. A minimum margin of 10mm should also be applied to the other 3 edges (we typically trim to 295 x 208mm). you know, when the page is rotated to portrait for printing, you may lose text along the spine edge.
